1. Tell me about yourself…
This is perhaps the most common question asked because it breaks the ice and puts the ball in your end of the court. In this question you want to avoid telling your life story. Stick to the key points in your resume instead and point out key parts.
2. Why did you leave your last job?
An uncomfortable question for many and one that employees love to ask. Be honest if you can. Don’t talk about issues you had with your previous employer, instead focus on what you want. Talk about how you are looking for a new organization that offers growth opportunity and how you are looking to expand your experience in your field or new field.
3. What do you know about our company?
Do your research prior to your interview and dig up some information about the company you are applying for. Look for things like recent expansion, mergers, history, community involvement and other projects you can dig up on this company.
4. Why do you want to work for our company?
This is another common question asked. To answer this, use points from the previous question. Talk about positive aspects of the company and other things you dug up in you research.
5. How do you work under pressure?
For this question you want to talk about how you excel under pressure. That it keeps you accountable and focused.
6. What is your greatest strength?
This is an easy one to answer. Just name your most impressive aspects like, great personality, work experience, education, customer service experience…anything that pertains to you.
7. What is your greatest weakness?
A very popular and nerve wrecking question that is often asked. This is one that many people start to stutter and mumble on. You don’t want to be completely honest here, just use common sense and some swagger and you should be fine. You can use things like “I have been told I focused to much on small details”.
